The process involves drawing the pot red hot and molten from the kiln and cooling in sawdust. The resultant pots are unlike anything produced by other methods. The orginal Raku firing pottery technique originating in 16th Century Japan. Classic glazed raku gives the characteristic crackle surface. Reliable glazes and clays will be provided to ensure a good result almost every time. (Pots extra at £7.50 each from John). |

All techniques from start to finish! The course will offer the opportunity to paint a wide range of subject matter from atmospheric skies, mountain scenery, trees and foregrounds, water, buildings and perspective, adding life to the landscape.
The use of glazing techniques to add sparkle and colour harmony to your landscapes will be demonstrated. The principles of design will be discussed throughout the course. Expect to take home several completed paintings both on watercolour paper and canvas. Keith's new book "Acrylic Landscapes in a Weekend" will be published by David and Charfles in the Spring of 2009. Acylic paint is the most versatile of all paints and the ideal starter paint for beginners. They allow the more experienced painter to create effects they cannot easily achieve with other mediums.
